Guest where John & Jan Adams, friends of the Haas’s and the Weber’s. Karl & Virginia Maki, Sam Maki’s folks.
  3. Sam Maki read the minutes from the 17 Oct meeting.
  4. Sandy Weand gave the Treasures Report. Presently we have $2,123.34. $86 were spent for banners for the Veterans Parade. The Schnitzel donated the Chapter $100 from the day of the Veterans Parade. Renja opened up that day and we put the helicopter on display and hopefully drew in some visitors.
  5. Les Haas gave an update on the 170th AHC. He is now in contact with the Vietnam crewchief of Buc 3. He is going to send the Chapter pictures of Buc 3 during its tour in Vietnam. Les has acquired a new nose door and is sending it off to Rhode Island to get the Buc 3 nose art painted on it.  The chapter from Florida is also looking for some assistance on their aircraft and trailer. Les also mentioned that Jim White will have his back operated on tomorrow, 22 November 2013. We all wish him well and a quick recovery. Les is also looking for the individual who talked to him about the LED lights when the crew was in Cullman. Does anyone know who that was? Les also handed out Chapter awards to Marshall Eubanks, Joe Stevens, Bernie Parr, John McDaniel, and one is waiting for Gene Peay who couldn’t make it due to being ill.
  6. Apparel and events was covered by Marshall and Sharron Eubanks. Marshall says that Monday is the deadline for orders this period. He also gave an update of just how busy November was for the Chapter. The Chapter will be attending many of the events again next year. Sharron told us that the placing of the wreaths was a success. There was a good turnout from the members of the NAVHPA and we did have a good day. Emails will come out as to when the wreaths will be picked up and repacked. Marshall would like to give a Certificate of Appreciation to Tate Farms for the 15 bales of straw that we used for the Veterans Parade and to the Center of Huntsville Technology for the steps that they made for us.
  7. Aircraft Restoration was covered by Bernie Parr. Some work needs to be done to get the Stab bars level again plus get the pitch out of the M/R due to folks trying to lift the collective. He also would like to get the cyclic moveable so the kids can move it around some. The aircraft needs a general cleaning plus the wiring needs to be finished for the lights. The next work day is 7 Dec. 2013. I think the Japs did something really bad on that day too.
  8. Don Bisson has 33 folks signed up for the Christmas Dinner. It is 12 December at the Marriott by the Space and Rocket Center. Contact Don to let him know if you plan on going and get your money to Sandy Weand. It is $25 per person, covers all the meal. We will have a pay as you go bar. There is a guest speaker also.
  9. Ralph Weber gave an update on Publicity. George Kitchens has been working on the Chapters web site. George would like your bio with a picture of you as a young killer helicopter pilot and a current statelier gentleman picture of you. He would like any pictures of aircraft that were used in Vietnam. All information must be sent to George at this time because he is the only that can get into the site to add or delete items. If you want to access the site to view it, go to navhpa.wordpress.com.
  10. No old business
  11. No new business
  12. A short story was given by Steve Pflanczer as to how his 45 saved his manly hood and the chicken plate saved his life. Bob Monette told us how he saved a C-130 crew and they got Silver Stars and Bob’s crew got a pallet of fruit. Two funny stories. Keep the stories coming folks.
  13. Meeting was adjourned at 7:15PM by President Les Haas.
